Mr. Stewart has worked in marketing and advertising sales since 1972. In his current position as CEO of Tribute Entertainment Media Group he leads Canada’s most innovative, award winning entertainment marketing company.
Mr. Stewart pioneered the in theatre media business for exhibitors across Canada, developing advertising initiatives/ strategies /revenues for Famous Players, Empire Theatres, Guzzo Cinemas, Landmark theatres, and independent exhibitors. He was instrumental in initiating the current alternative content business in digital theatres, by bringing sporting and music events to theatres.
Under his leadership Tribute’s internet initiatives have grown to a monthly audience of over 4 million users. Tribute.ca is one of Canada’s leading motion picture entertainment sites, consistently ranking in the top 3 in Canada.
Mr. Stewart has Executive Produced more than 500 TV shows and recently Executive Produced the internationally award winning feature documentary “Sharkwater”. His next feature documentary is “Revolution” which recently premiered at Toronto international Film Festival – coming runner up in best Documentary category then went on to win People’s Choice for Best Documentary at both Atlantic Film Festival and Vancouver film Festival. “Revolution” will be released in theatres in March 2013.
Under Mr. Stewart’s leadership TEMG has become the Canadian market Leader in creating and executing marketing programs supporting theatrical motion pictures. TEMG has media holdings and business units/divisions specializing in publishing, internet, broadcast, consumer promotions and in theatre media.
Mr. Stewart has been an active member of The Motion Picture Pioneers and was recognized as Pioneer if the Year in 2006. He is a member of the Broadcast Executive Society, Variety Club and supports numerous charities.
He has been widely recognized as a visionary marketer having been awarded numerous package design and marketing innovation awards from the industry as well as the North American RAC Award in multimedia from the Retail Advertising Marketing Association.
Mr. Stewart holds a degree in design from Ryerson University. He is married (Sandy) with two adult children (Alexandra and Rob).
