As Chief Digital Officer of Rogers Media, Jason Tafler is responsible for driving the company’s digital media strategy, growth and innovation through multiplatform media and marketing solutions across Rogers’s diverse digital portfolio of owned + exclusive and network sites. Under Tafler’s leadership, Rogers Digital Media delivers connected relationships with key audiences through unrivalled intelligence, world-class content and experiences, and insights and solutions that drive client business.
Prior to joining Rogers Media in 2011, Tafler spent the last eight years in the U.S. building, advising and investing in entrepreneurial, growth-oriented companies in the media, advertising, and technology industries.
Most recently, Tafler was CEO of PointRoll (2008 to 2011), a leading U.S.-based provider of innovative digital advertising solutions and the cornerstone of Gannett’s digital marketing services group, which powered more than $1 billion of online ad spending per year for two-thirds of the Fortune 500 companies. Tafler joined PointRoll in 2005 as Vice-President of Business Development & Strategy after advising the company on its sale to Gannett, and also held the role of Senior Vice-President, Global Business Operations & Strategy.
While at The Jordan Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI), a boutique investment bank in New York, Tafler specialized in venture capital and mergers and acquisitions, serving clients in the media, information and marketing services sectors.
Prior to his work in the U.S., Tafler played a key role in building and selling lifestyle publisher 50Plus (currently Zoomer Media) and worked in investment banking for First Marathon Securities (currently National Bank Financial).
A Toronto native, Tafler received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
